{"id":1376,"date":"2013-01-21T08:52:41","date_gmt":"2013-01-21T08:52:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.northampton.ac.uk\/learntech\/?p=1376"},"modified":"2013-01-21T08:52:41","modified_gmt":"2013-01-21T08:52:41","slug":"open-northampton-gathers-pace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.northampton.ac.uk\/learntech\/2013\/01\/21\/open-northampton-gathers-pace\/","title":{"rendered":"Open Northampton gathers pace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following our successful bid to the Leadership Foundation, under the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lfhe.ac.uk\/en\/programmes-events\/your-univeristy\/cll\/index.cfm\" target=\"_blank\"> Changing the Learning Landscape<\/a> scheme, Professor Megan Quentin-Baxter from Newcastle University visited Northampton on 17 January, where she held meeting with a range of colleagues interested in the Open Northampton project.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/nile.northampton.ac.uk\/bbcswebdav\/xid-770271_1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-581\" src=\"https:\/\/nile.northampton.ac.uk\/bbcswebdav\/xid-792306_1\" alt=\"Megan presenting picture\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a> She delivered an <a title=\"Megan's Introductory slides\" href=\"https:\/\/nile.northampton.ac.uk\/bbcswebdav\/xid-792305_1http:\/\/\" target=\"_blank\">introductory session<\/a> on open educational resources (OER) and open educational practices (OEP), attended by 25 representatives from our staff and students.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of consultation with various groups during the session, Megan collated some of the <a title=\"Whiteboard output during the session\" href=\"https:\/\/nile.northampton.ac.uk\/bbcswebdav\/xid-792307_1\" target=\"_blank\">collective thoughts<\/a> around what are some of the key terms with reference to OERs and OEPs; Some of the dreams and nightmares; and some of the enablers and barriers.<\/p>\n<p>Megan will compile a structured plan to develop and enhance staff and students\u2019 digital literacies in relation to open educational resources and associated practices, both as users and contributors.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Megan\u2019s next visits will be a one-day workshop on OER and OEP to be held in <strong>MY120 (Avenue Campus) on 28 January<\/strong>, and then another one on <strong>12 February at Sunley<\/strong> . We invite colleagues to consider attending these sessions.
